What would a year end countdown be without a comeback tune
or two and while Nine Inch Nails really weren’t going to be gone in terms of
being Trent Reznors preferred method of delivering hauntingly danceable grooves
I guess the well dried up and even he realized we all want that amazing first
single already and that’s what we got.
This song’s your NIN typical in every way that we all love
and while I’m not honestly much for more electronic heavy Reznor and company I
find this one to have that kind of danceable vicious vibe that discipline had
but with more of a focus on sounding like a horror movie rather than something
you’d throw down to, but none-the less a great number that’ll leave fans well
pleased and in the mood to hear how much better he can do…
That cool indie band that sounds like a Zooey Deschanel film
in every song is back and with what’s actually quite a delightful little cut in
the form of a music video that’s fooling all of its listeners into watching a
romantic comedy while listening to the best song you’ll hear on every
television promo this year….
Simple poppy alternative rock tune’s always find ways of
creeping up on the radio every year and while the bands are fairly forgettable
the songs they make aren’t and in this very energetic kind of hippy vibe ode to
love and the idea of something binding all of us together named after the town
that made the idea of experimenting with new boundaries of rock and roll this
larger than life sing along jam has managed to be the most delightfully upbeat tune
to have that state of ecstatic joy to….
You know I expected big things from this very radio friendly
danceable little pop rock number and it’s larger than life chorus and it’s
infectiously catchy sound but sadly it didn’t really make any impact which for
the most part is quite a damn shame to be honest people because even now this
song’s still fun as hell to listen to….
Sexy, scintillating, vulgar, dark, stark, and various other
words and emotions are wrapped up quite explicitly in a package that’s honestly
everything right in pop radio in the form of the Weekends depressingly great
tunes with this one being the intro into what’s likely to be quite interesting.
While my list are often dominated with alternative music this year I actually
managed to give everything else a shot and this song probably did the best job
of showing that more modern takes on R&B really managed to have some
worth-whileness…
2013 was quite a year people not in terms of making strides
in my position in life but rather quite a good number of songs came out this
year, and with some consideration from you the readers along with the fact that
it’s my own excuse to list off some of the my personal favorite offerings this
year shall now use the next 4 weeks to give you guy’s my list of the 20 best
cuts of the year and if you’re curious why only 20 it’s because as the numbers
of post I’ve made each month have dwindled due to fatigue and lack of desire to
properly post every day I made the decision a while back to instead post only
through the week and leave the weekends as a period of time for me to have a
break, so with all that in mind let’s get this mother a rollin’ with my number 20
pick for the best song of 2013…

Ok people I’m not going to lie to any of you I hated love
the way you lie and to this day still find it to be more annoying a tune than
anything else but there’s something about this tune that I can’t quite figure
out why but it’s fucking catchy.
Honestly I haven’t really found anything one Marshal Mathers
has done since the Eminem show to be of any real sense of quality, but every
once in a blue moon people manage to actually craft a tune that’s not necessarily
the most original tune but the chemistry between the individuals involved
actually clicks in a way that even if the others a fairly weak musician in
their own right still kind of highlights the other’s attributes and offers a
nice counterbalanced to their nature in this songs case that the chorus is
killer and the angry yet fairly optimistic verses by Em are done in a way that’s
actually a catchy number.
So yeah probably the second biggest song you’ll read about
on this list but still an amusing tune none-the-less and honestly something I didn’t
expect to enjoy as much as I have…
