R.I.P. David Bowie 1947-2016

So one of the pillars of modern music has passed on to the other side today after an 18 month battle with cancer and only a few day's after his 69th birthday and release of his newest album and it's quite crazy to think about when you sit back and realize just how much of an influential and important artist he really was for modern music as a whole across a wide range of genres from glam, alternative, industrial, pop, and everything in between this man dipped his toes into everything and managed to leave an impactful mark on music as a whole that I'm pretty sure will pretty soon be recognized beyond the mans wildest dreams in terms of just how much he really did.

Now with that in mind there's not a whole lot I can really say compared to the variety of touching tributes I've seen all around social media so I think the best thing I really can do is post my personal favorite and the track that got me into this musical chameleon in the form of this timelessly BAD ASS rocker in the form of everyone's favorite fictional rock star.

R.I.P. Bowie The Stars look very different today......

Song of the Day 6/3/15

So after blasting the ever loving fuck out of that new Melanie Martinez single I decided to actually go back and re-listen to the song it's basically an interpretation on and realized that that song came out 50 years ago....shit son time is a crazy thing but either way it's interesting really that she's done a modernized take on a very sad but catchy number...

R.I.P. Leonard

So While I was never really into the science fiction phenomena that was Star Trek it is saddening to hear that one of Hollywoods leading science fiction juggernauts has passed on and while this may seem odd to point out on here he did actually record music and I was always more fond of a lot of his vocal work for various animated projects and the Videogame Seman but all that aside let's take a minute to geek out for a day and respect a very respectable actor....

Song of the Day 1-7-15

We Can Work it Out-Stevie Wonder (Originally The Beatles)

SO I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this may very well be the best god damn Beatles cover to ever be caught on tape and the fact that it takes a legend like Stevie Wonder to take an already great tune and somehow just kind of Funk that Number up and give it an even more danceable groove only to be even more complimented by his very scattered vocals which take the chorus and give it an even more lively vibe that deviates in a way that perfectly makes things his own and shows you just how one can truly take something and make it their very own and in this instance Stevie owned the funk outta this track people..

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Happy Halloween everyone hopefully you have a great and safe day and when I was trying to come up with the best song to celebrate today I had to dig deep and go to a dark place people.

I mean I really had to ask myself what's the scariest most heavy and haunting tune I could possibly think of and it hit me.........Simon and Garfunkel.........OK I guess I'll attempt to explain.

"Hello Darkness my old friend, I've come to talk to you again," it's a call to the deepest darkest things we all go through people and here we have two folk rock deities looking that darkness straight in the fucking eye and saying...hey what's up and that's fucking heavy people this song is a hushed execution of some strong lyrics that just demand to be screamed and built up to this epic crescendo but they're not instead we have this calm folk tune that just keeps you on edge as it also manages to be one bad ass tune that seemed like the perfect accompaniment to tonight.

Yes this may be an odd assessment but just take a second to really sit back and just listen won't you......to the sound.....OF SILENCE!

Happy Halloween

Song of the Day 10/31/14

Hmmm tomorrow's Halloween and Today's tune get's the date of the harvest night the time of year where our inner ghoul comes out to haunt those around us and score some free candy from strangers, yes people it's the most wonderful time of the year and I don't necessarily have an exact plan per say maybe aside from getting my drink on or something of that nature, but until then I figure I could post a bad ass little festive themed tune for everyone to enjoy on the hallows eve in the form of this trippy kind of psychedelic 60's Sgt. Peppers sounding Pink Floyd tune that also happens to be both wonderfully creepy in tone and have my name in it which is obviously the biggest win win people....

Friday's Finest

So I’ve been all over the place this week…just giving you fair warning because this weeks list should be interesting…

1. Puto-Molotov

So I work with a bunch of characters and one of my co-workers decided to tell me about this raunchy little semi-homophobic rocker that’s honestly one of the most amusingly ridiculous tunes I’ve heard in a while and it’s the pure unadulterated rocking that kind of reminds me of being a young angry white boy…that for some reason is singing along to a Spanish rock song….don’t judge.

2. Let Me give the world to you-The Smashing Pumpkins

So sadly enough they took down the official version from the adore box set which brings a massive tear to my eyes because it’s SO FUCKING GOOD! But I guess the one from Machina 2 should suffice for now because this song’s such a hidden gem.

3.Clavado En Un Bar-Mana

So yet another random Spanish song that I’ve heard because of listening to some odd ass radio station son Pandora from an album I’m more familiar with having an interesting CD cover that’s actually quite a catchy little rocker that has a kind of mid 90’s alternative rocker feel to it that is probably the reason it’s stuck out compared to what’s honestly a series of songs that I hear every day that I don’t know what’s being said but I find to be very catchy.

4. Gun-Chvrches

So I’ve been closing all week and during one particularly long night I found myself daydreaming about Lauren Mayberry and found myself eventually listening to The Bones of What You Believe as I was going to bed that night…and this song made me jump up and start dancing….again DON’T JUDGE PEOPLE!!!

5. Lady Madonna-The Beatles

I remember watching a video a long time ago about songs that sound like other songs and in the list it pointed out how Sublimes What I got sounds a lot like this little Beatles Gem…and if you listen to it that way it kind of does….weird.

So that’s this week’s list for ya make sure to obviously go like the Facebook page and of course I forgot to say this yesterday but I’m still taking tunes for Throwback Thursday’s so if you want to contribute then feel free to do so but until then enjoy Friday’s Finest…

The Greatest Song EVER!

So there's this article I'll write on here that's only really been done twice where in which I take the time to very VERY highly praise a tune that I feel is truly one of the greats and today while at work I was singing this wonderful little tune that was really striking true and was more then prepared to take this idea after almost 3 years and finally post about an amazing little punk rock tune that's just to undeniably true about where I am in my life right now....that was up until I was driving home and the following tune not only brought me a sense of elated joy that both left me screaming but actually made ALL the clouds go away and most literally SHINED A FUCKING LIGHT ON ME!!!!!

And because of that moment of clarity I just had to change tune because there's sometimes in life when you just have to write about what's right and in this songs case it's possibly the Greatest Song EVER!

"Head On(Hold On To Your Heart)"-Man Man

So I'm just going to be blunt with you people life in all intensive purposes for me has been shitty as FUUUUUUUUUCK! and it's this increased amount as my ever so in the dog house buddy quoted, "a series of small term issues," that have brought about what's been a very large amount of stress that's had me acting in some rather questionable way's and really just kind of been piling up to really make me just kind of want to scream, but again like I said I was driving home and out of nowhere on that stretch of road that is my way home this song came on the radio and for whatever reason as I turned it up louder then necessary and started singing along the clouds in the sky started to most literally part way and I was greeted by both this oddly amazing feeling of elation and a very nice looking bit of greenery on what's actually a fairly cold and miserable day.

Yes this wonderfully little throwback of a tune that kind of reminds me of Pearl Jams cover of last kiss in that it's an alternative rock song that kind of sounds like an older kind of R&B influenced 60's pop song with a very Doo-whop meet's Baroque Pop sound that's a very sing along vocally impressive rock and roll tune with a lot of emotion poured into a very sad storybook of a tune that's very much pouring a very specific emotion in this tunes case the desire to hold on to that loving spirit we all have with plenty of wonderful word choices like, "Hold it High above flood waters," in between lines about how the singer in question doesn't seem to recognize what he's become and how he needs to keep hope alive in knowing that his heart knows where he's going.

It's an oddly romantic tune that really just kind of hit me like a ton of bricks today and while I may be ever so slightly worn out, tired, and filled with a strong desire to just bitch out everyone around me for being an idiot and for life to quit raining all over my parade I'm kind of having some bit of brightness and clarity by listening to this wonderful little throwback of a tune and i guess in the oddest way possible it might just be the greatest song EVER!

So remember everyone Like my Official Facebook Page, give the newly extended contest a shot to not only get some free advertisement but also give me a new profile picture, and of course enjoy today's wonderful song of the day...
